Postcode Atlas: licence terms

These terms apply between Van Oosten Advies B.V. and you as a user of the Postcode Atlas app. By installing or using the app you accept them.

1. What you may do

Van Oosten Advies B.V. grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use Postcode Atlas in the Business Central environments for which you hold a valid subscription, for as long as that subscription runs.

2. What you may not do

  1. Resell, rent out or offer the app or the data it ships as a product of your own.
  2. Extract the data from the app in order to distribute it outside Business Central as a standalone dataset.
  3. Remove or obscure the GeoNames and Ordnance Survey attributions.
  4. Decompile or modify the app, except to the extent mandatory law permits.

3. Third party data

The post code data comes from GeoNames, under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, and for Great Britain from Ordnance Survey Code-Point Open, under the Open Government Licence v3 (Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2026). Those licences apply to that data alongside these terms. Both permit reuse, including commercial reuse, provided the source is credited; the app does so per country.

4. No warranty of accuracy

Post code data ages. Municipalities merge, new districts get new codes, and a source can contain an error. The app is supplied as it is, with no warranty that the data is complete, current or free of errors. Do not use it as the only source for anything where a wrong address causes damage; check the official source in that case.

5. Liability

Van Oosten Advies B.V. is not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage, lost profit or loss of data. For direct damage, liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the damage. This limitation does not apply in the case of intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of Van Oosten Advies B.V.

6. Your data

The app writes into your own company and sends no data out of your environment to us. What does happen is set out in the privacy statement for the app.

7. Loading replaces existing post codes

The Load Post Codes action first removes the post codes the company holds for that country, including ones somebody entered by hand. The app asks for confirmation first. Make an export if you want to keep your own post codes.

8. Updates

New versions can add countries, update counts or fix errors. An update does not replace post codes that are already loaded; that happens only when you load a country again.

9. Term and termination

The licence runs for as long as your subscription runs. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. On termination the right of use ends; the post codes present in your company at that moment remain yours.

10. Changes to these terms

Van Oosten Advies B.V. may change these terms for future versions of the app. The version in force when you installed a given app version continues to apply to that app version. The date at the top of this page shows when this text was last changed.

11. Governing law

This agreement is governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the district of Zeeland-West-Brabant.
