Approach

How I take on an engagement: four phases, no unnecessary ceremony

Every engagement is different, but the way I begin is the same: understand first, then propose.

  1. Step 1: Listen and meet

A short conversation in which you describe the situation. I ask questions and reserve advice. Aim: understand what is actually at stake, and what you expect from an outside party.

  2. Step 2: Proposal and agreement

A concise proposal with scope, planning and rate. No bundled packages, no long quotation documents, just a few pages that both sides can actually stand behind.

  3. Step 3: Delivery

I work visibly and remain reachable. Not just in steering groups, also on the work floor and in the technology. One point of contact for the whole engagement.

  4. Step 4: Handover and close

An engagement only ends once the work can continue without me. I hand over knowledge, document what must be documented, and then step away.
