Archive Categories in CustomerGate 365

Archive Categories matters only where iFacto DXSteel Doc Archive is installed, usually together with Steel 365. The portal then shows the customer's archived PDFs instead of printing them with Business Central reports, and only from the categories on this page.

The fields

Category Name
The category exactly as DXSteel Doc Archive stores it (the archive's field Entity Set Name), for example Verkoopofferte.
Shown in Portal As
What the documents in this category are in the portal: Sales Quote, Sales Order, Sales Invoice, Sales Credit Memo, Pro Forma Invoice, Waybill or Warehouse Shipment. A category without a kind is not shown.

Insert Default Categories

Adds the categories DXSteel Doc Archive uses by default, if they are not listed yet. Existing lines stay as they are. Where the archive is installed, the app fills in these defaults on installation.

What a customer sees

A document appears in the portal only if it belongs to the customer (the archive's relation is this customer, with the relation type Customer) and its category is on this page with a kind. The portal passes the kind to the website, never your own category name. Purchase invoices and internal correspondence in the same archive stay out.

After a change

Choose Repair Permissions on CustomerGate Setup after every change here. The website account reads the archive through the tenant permission set VOA CG S365 ARCHIVE, whose security filter is set to exactly these categories. The line Document Archive Filter on CustomerGate Setup shows whether it is in place.
