Microsoft 365 set up properly, and kept that way

For most small businesses Microsoft 365 is the heart of their IT: email, calendars, Teams and files. It is quickly switched on and rarely set up properly. Accounts of former staff that still work, shared passwords, files scattered across personal OneDrives, and the misconception that Microsoft keeps a backup.

I manage your Microsoft 365 environment in every package: users, licences, mailboxes, Teams and SharePoint. From Complete upwards an independent backup and a fixed security baseline come on top, which I do not set once but keep watching. If something changes that should not, I see it.

When it is time for management

The signs are usually visible before anything goes wrong.

There are accounts of people who left long ago, or accounts shared by several people.
Not everyone uses MFA, or nobody knows for sure.

What it is not

Not a migration from another email system or your own server to Microsoft 365 within the package. That can be done, but it is a project with its own quotation.
Not management of Google Workspace or other office suites. I work exclusively with Microsoft 365.
Not custom development in SharePoint or Power Apps within the package. That is what the automation service is for.
Not a substitute for clear agreements within your business. You decide which information belongs where; I make sure the technology supports it.

Frequently asked questions

Doesn't Microsoft keep a backup itself?

Microsoft makes sure the service stays available, not that your data can be recovered. Whatever you or an attacker deletes is gone once the recycle bin's retention period ends, and ransomware encrypts synchronised files just as easily. Microsoft itself advises a third-party backup. That is why it is included in Complete and Premium.

Which licence do I need?

For Complete and Premium that is Microsoft 365 Business Premium. It includes Intune for laptop management, Defender for Business and Entra ID P1 for conditional access: exactly what the security baseline needs. For Essential any Microsoft 365 licence will do.

Can you take over my current licences?

Yes. If they currently run through another party, I move them across at the next renewal. Until then I simply manage the environment, and you never pay twice.

Do I keep access to my own environment?

Always. The environment and the data are yours, and you keep an administrator account of your own. I manage with separate, limited access that you can revoke. If you stop, I hand everything over.
